Stating that Delta V developed the national and original hybrid engine technology, one of the most important pillars of the lunar mission, Varank said that the company was established in 2016 and that it has been working on access to space since 2017.
Stating that this summer, the company will fire the rocket that will cross the space limit, Varank made the following assessment:
“We are expecting Delta V to develop engines that will make our own firing in space, especially in the lunar mission. In this sense, we have brought together TÜBİTAK UZAY and Delta V. They have already started their work for several months. We held a preliminary design meeting with all parties and listened to the location of Delta V, especially in the newly developing hybrid rocket technologies in the world, and their future plans. We want to successfully complete the first contact with the Moon by firing our own national and original rocket, we want to achieve it with our own national and original spacecraft, and we hope to send our crescent and star flag to the Moon. “

Reminding that criticisms were made regarding the budget of TUA after the announcement of the National Space Program, Varank said, “Those who make these criticisms are unaware of both the functioning of the state and how these projects are carried out.” used the expressions.
Pointing out that TUA’s budget is related to its own organizational structure and operational needs, Varank said, “In addition, a budget is transferred from other institutions, especially in terms of R&D, from other sources. already has its own projects and trained human resources. ” said.
Emphasizing that they will create the budget of the project related to the moon mission and make it available to companies, Varank continued as follows:
“TUA also has other budget resources. Currently, the production of İMECE satellite is made by TÜBİTAK UZAY, a project of more than 70 million dollars. In addition, TÜBİTAK UZAY is also running the Türksat 6A communication satellite project, it has a budget of over 200 million dollars. We do not have a budget shortage. We should not confuse a project budget, an R&D budget and the budget of the institution for its own daily needs. “
The lunar mission has two main objectives
On the other hand, the Moon mission in the National Space Program announced by President Erdogan consists of two main objectives. The first goal of the mission is for an unmanned rocket to reach the Moon from near Earth orbit and land hard in 2023. The spacecraft designed with national facilities for this mission will use a national and original hybrid rocket engine. The launch of the spacecraft from Earth to near Earth orbit will be achieved through international cooperation. The second goal of the lunar mission is to make a soft landing on the Moon with an unmanned vehicle in 2028.
Rocket engines, on the other hand, are divided into 3 groups according to the way the fuel and oxidizer are stored. The systems where the oxidizer and fuel are stored in solid form are called solid fuel rocket engines, and the systems where the liquid is stored are called liquid fuel rocket engines.
In hybrid rocket engines, a hybrid system is obtained by storing oxidizer and fuel in different physical phases.
