Scientific study led by the academicians of Kütahya Health Sciences University proved that potent pomegranate accelerates the healing of bone fractures. Kütahya Health Sciences University (KSBÜ) Faculty of Medicine, Head of Orthopedics and Traumatology Department Assoc. Dr. Stating that animal experiments have yielded successful results, Sermet İnal said, “Power pomegranate resembles the cry we know. “We proved the effect of the plant, which is grown once a year, on fracture boiling both histopathologically and biomechanically.”

Kütahya Health Sciences University Faculty of Medicine, Orthopedics and Traumatology Department academicians, after 5 years of scientific study, revealed that the potency pomegranate accelerates the healing process of bone fractures. Kütahya Health Sciences University (KSBÜ) Medical Faculty Orthopedics and Traumatology Department Head Assoc. Dr. Sermet İnal said, “The pomegranate of power is similar to the cry we know. It is about 15-20 centimeters long and grows once a year. We proved the effect of this plant on fracture union both histopathologically and biomechanically with our rat study. It is valuable as a pioneering work in fracture healing. With this study, we achieved a first in the world and entered the literature as the only study on this subject. We also received acceptance for our study to be published in a good internationally recognized journal. We are happy both for our university and for undertaking this work in Kütahya. The next step will be to do this work in humans. We will begin studies where we can see that there is union in broken bones in humans. It will also add an important value to the patients we will treat fractures. “We will continue to investigate,” he said.

‘SUPPORT TO THE TREATMENT PROCESS OF ORTHOPEDIC DOCTORS’

Stressing that fracture union can be a very difficult and difficult process for orthopedic physicians, KSBU Medical Faculty Orthopedics and Traumatology Department Lecturer Dr. Turan Cihan Dülgeroğlu said, “Side products may be required for this. Dr. Kadir Gök said, “It is a pride to take part in this study. Besides clinical tests, biomedical tests are also important. “We have seen that rat tibia (tibia), to which the ‘Power Pomegranate’ extract has been applied, is biomechanically more durable than those that are not applied,” he said.
