TSE signature to Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant

Within the scope of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NGS) Project, the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) conducts inspections on construction, earth sciences, electrical and mechanical works with its technical experts with a nuclear safety culture, with full knowledge of the field.

According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent, the foundation of the first reactor was laid in April 2018 and the foundation of the second reactor was laid in April 2020, with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin this week. had begun.

Conformity assessment carrying out the activities of TSE in Turkey’s 50-year Nuclear Regulatory Authority in 2007 within the scope of Akkuyu NGS project dream will be realized (NDK) by the manufacturer approval for the power plant within the framework of legislation in the field, on inspection of the construction and manufacturing activity “technical support provider” as had been authorized .

With this authoritative Institute, the plant nuclear safety classes to use 1, 2, 3 in the years 2018 to 2019 relating to the approval of the equipment manufacturers in Russia, Ukraine, took part in the process of inspection and certification of technical experts in 29 companies campuses in Europe and Turkey.

Within the framework of the work program regarding the activities to be carried out in the plant site, TSE conducts the audits on construction, earth sciences, electrical and mechanical works with a graduated approach with its technical experts with a nuclear safety culture, with full control of the field.

The number of experts has been increased

TSE, which has added new experts to its technical staff since the beginning of the project, is updating its nuclear technical expert staff in line with the needs of the field.

Within the scope of the Akkuyu NGS Project, subcontractors and nuclear building inspection organizations are also audited as well as the founder, while the documentation infrastructure used in the audits is also created by the TSE.

The Institute provides technical support to NDK with regular daily, weekly, monthly reports and observation and finding reports created based on inspections.

Surveillance audits are carried out at 19 manufacturers in Russia

Following the commencement of the production of safety-grade equipment for Akkuyu NGS, which requires a long procurement process, production surveillance audits have been initiated at 19 manufacturers, most of which are based in Russia. The controls of the entire production process are carried out and reported by TSE technical experts at the relevant manufacturer’s facilities.

On the other hand, in addition to these activities, TSE also carries out controls regarding the assembly of safety class equipment along with the controls of construction and manufacturing activities with the contract it signed with Nüted Nuclear Technical Support Inc. last year.
