SpaceX launches 7-ton digital radio satellite into space

According to the news on the Spacenews.com website, the 7-ton satellite called “SXM-8” was launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Station in Florida with a Falcon-9 rocket.

The reusable Falcon-9 rocket returned to Earth 9 minutes after launch and landed on the company’s unmanned floating landing platform in the Atlantic Ocean.

This is SpaceX’s 18th launch this year.

The SXM-8 satellite will deliver approximately 8,000 watts of satellite signal per year to subscribers in the USA, Canada and Caribbean countries.

Space launched Sirius XM’s SXM-7 satellite into space in December 2020.
