Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ) Veterinary Faculty Genetics Department Lecturer Dr. Mevlüt Arslan, viruses, bacteria, animals, plants and human DNA markers used in studies of imported for scientific investigation and discovery of properties of started work to produce in Turkey.
For this purpose, Arslan, who was given laboratory support in Teknokent under YYÜ, developed a new approach for the production of markers used in molecular studies.
Aiming to eliminate foreign dependency in this way, Arslan succeeded in developing the product that will start mass production next year.

Stating that the studies started in February last year, Arslan gave the following information:
“I developed a new approach to the production of DNA size markers using recombinant DNA technology and genetic engineering strategies. As a result of intensive studies, I obtained the prototype of the product. My development work continues. This product is widely used in universities, institutes and research centers. one of the main product. the DNA size marker of being discontinued products in Turkey, was the most important reason for me to start working. “
Stating that DNA size markers are used extensively in laboratory studies and this situation negatively affects the studies financially, Arslan continued as follows:
“With this study, I aim to make our country not dependent on foreign countries and increase our export potential by developing international standard and quality DNA size markers for researchers. By localizing this product, I want our country’s researchers to reach these markers at a more affordable cost. I also aim for the production of tokens. “
