Brain activities and neurological structure have always been the subject of discussion. The connection between neurons and some activities resulting from this connection were observed. Continuing their work at the University of San Francisco, scientists managed to put their brain activities into words with a device.
With the studies that have been going on for about 10 years, the brain implant that is used to put thoughts into words has become ready for use. Studies on a paralyzed patient yielded results. Thus, it was a first in history.
Scientists who turned thoughts into words with the studies done used only one implant. Edward Chang, one of the authors of the study, compared paralyzed patients who will use implants with normal people. Normally people can construct 200 words per minute.
Paralyzed patients with brain implants also dry 150 words per minute in the same way. In other words, there is almost no difference between paralyzed patients and normal individuals. The brain implant that closes this gap. This device monitors activities that stimulate places in the brain that are related to sound, such as the mouth and jaw. Thus, he creates words through these activities.
As a result of the studies carried out by scientists, it was announced that the accuracy rate of this device is approximately 75 percent. Thus, the difference between paralyzed patients and normal people was reduced, even a little bit.
