The regulation on the establishment and operation of the National Mobile Warning System (UYARSİS) was published in the Official Gazette. Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan said, “Thanks to UYARSİS, people within the geographical area will be able to receive early warning messages in case of disasters or emergencies.”

The regulation on the establishment and operation of UYARSİS was published in the current issue of the Official Gazette. According to the published regulation, issues regarding the establishment and operation of a national mobile alert system that enables users to receive warning notifications in geographically specific regions in situations that may pose a threat to disasters, emergencies and public order, national security and national cyber security can be determined. Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Sayan made a statement on his Twitter account. In his statement, Sayan said, “With the national warning system, the SMS sending capacity of operators will be increased and all mobile users will be reached in a short time throughout the country. The system will be able to reach not only people across the country, but also people who are in a region, a province or a district instantly.”

Deputy Minister Sayan stated that the warning system will be open to the use of institutions responsible for disaster, emergency and security and said: “In this way, it will be possible for people within the geographical area to receive early warning messages when a disaster or emergency occurs. For warnings, methods such as CMAS (Commercial Mobile Warning System), CBS (Cellular Broadcast), SMS (short message) and pre-call announcement will be used.
