KOSGEB included 9 technology development centers in the scope of support


Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB) Presidency, Technology Development Centers (TEKMER) Support Program application was accepted, 3.4 million liras was paid to the center of Istanbul Gelişim University, where it will operate in fields such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and Izmir Katip Çelebi University’s smart city and It will also provide 2.3 million lira support to the center, which will work on themes such as transportation.

According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent from KOSGEB officials, the Presidency supports institutions and organizations within the scope of the TEKMER Support Program to establish technology-based incubation centers and to carry out remedial and development activities for entrepreneurs and start-ups.

The content of the said support program was revised at the beginning of last year. In this context, KOSGEB started to support the centers to be established instead of establishing TEKMERs.

In the last year, 9 TEKMER applications were accepted, 7 of which were from universities and 2 from private companies. Among them, Istanbul Aydın University, Ekol Grup Servis ve Yönetim Hizmetleri AŞ, Başkent University, İzmir Bakırçay University, İzmir Katip Çelebi University and İstanbul Gelişim University established operating companies.

Yıldırım Yapı Sanayi İnşaat Petrol Gıda Ticaret AŞ, Health Sciences University and Bitlis Eren University are continuing to establish their operating companies.

Istanbul Gelisim University, whose application was accepted, established a TEKMER that will operate in the fields of medicine, medical devices, medical, biotechnology, chemistry, electricity/electronics and software. The mission of the said center is to determine all the necessary needs for entrepreneurs/SMEs developing products/services at the intersection of biotechnology with other engineering branches, especially “Electronics”, in order to gain the power to compete at the national and international level, and to design and present the steps to be taken to meet these. and implementation was determined.

It was decided to support 3 million 385 thousand 475 liras by KOSGEB for the establishment of the center and its activities.

2.3 million lira support to TEKMER on smart cities

İzmir Katip Çelebi University, one of the institutions whose applications were accepted, established a TEKMER that will operate in the themes of smart cities, smart transportation, smart life and governance, smart economy and environment. The mission of this center was determined as supporting entrepreneurial activities, transferring the inventions of academic staff to the real sector, providing consultancy services to companies by academicians, thus paving the way for university-industry cooperation studies and leading the establishment of businesses that will contribute to employment in the future.

It was decided by KOSGEB to provide 2 million 312 thousand 850 liras of support for the establishment of this center and its activities.

Employment of 1 manager, 1 expert and 1 technical personnel in each of the 2 TEKMERs in question will be supported.

Within the scope of TEKMER Support Program, 1 application was sent to the board, control and pre-assessment processes of 9 of them are continuing. Of these, the on-site examination phase of 4 applications has been completed.
