A citizen who had a workshop in Istanbul Kağıthane completed the Iron Man armor, which he started 1.5 years ago. The most striking feature of the armor, whose parts are produced with 3D printers, is the voice command system.

The “iron man” armor project, which started in the workshop in Seyrantepe district of Istanbul, was completed in 1.5 years. It can move all the systems of the armor with an electronic infrastructure and voice commands. There is also an arc reactor in the hull that can generate nuclear energy.
Complementing his childhood dream of iron man armor, Tolga Özuygur said, “Actually, Iron Man has been one of my favorite characters in the Marvel series since childhood. When I was a kid I always thought I wish I had an iron man armor in my mind. Since I was already doing electronic and robotic projects on my youtube channel, an idea suddenly came to my mind as to why I am not making an iron man armor for myself, and in this way I started making the armor. It took a long time because of the pandemic, I have been dealing for about 1.5 years and I finally completed it ”.
Drawing attention to the fact that armor is made using many different techniques, Özuygur said, “The parts are produced one by one with 3D printers and then assembly processes are made. The design of the armor includes many equipment from three-dimensional printing to electronic circuit design and computer programming. Of course, I had to do a lot of research and development on all these. In addition, the body of the armor has an arc reactor that generates nuclear energy. After all, these are not the equipment that can be put on and taken off as easily as we see in the movies. Don’t look at it being worn within 1 second in the movie. With the help of two people, I can wear it in 1 hour and it is very difficult to wear this kind of thing and move in it. Therefore, it is necessary to use different materials accordingly, where flexible and hard to flexible. “It is really a very complicated thing to produce something that can be worn, and I learned that in this process.”
