Jeff Bezos, the founder of US e-commerce giant Amazon, left his chief executive (CEO) position on the company’s 27th anniversary.
On Amazon’s site, Andy Jassy has appeared as the company’s new CEO.
Bezos, who has served as the CEO since the company was founded on July 5, 1994, became the chairman of the board.
Bezos announced at the beginning of this year that he would step down as CEO, and in May announced that he would hand over his duties to Andy Jassy on July 5.
Stating that he will focus on other projects, including space travel, Bezos announced that he will go on a space journey with his brother Mark Bezos on July 20, in a post on his social media account Instagram in June.
