Investment from Microsoft for ‘data centers in Malaysia’

At the ceremony held in Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia and attended by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yasin and Microsoft Malaysia Director K Raman, 4 memorandum of understanding agreements were signed between Malaysian companies and Microsoft.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Muhyiddin stated that with the agreements, Microsoft will establish the first data center region in Malaysia and manage digital data from various countries through Malaysia.

Stating that the data centers to be established with an investment of $ 1 billion are groundbreaking for the Malaysian economy, Muhyiddin said, “We plan to provide employment for 19 thousand people in 5 years thanks to these data centers.” said.

Pointing out that Malaysia has made significant progress in the field of digitalization investments, Muhyiddin noted that approximately 1 million young people will be talented in the digital field by 2023.
