Google Nigeria Director Ehimuan said in a statement on the occasion of “March 8, International Women’s Day” that it is harder than ever to empower women in Africa economically due to the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) outbreak.

Juliet Ehimuan, Director of Google Nigeria, stated that Google will support women in Africa with $ 25 million as part of its new Global Impact Struggle (GIC) program.

Underlining that the GIC for women and girls focuses on changing the status quo, Ehimuan emphasized that the loss of income and lack of education are not only the side effects of Kovid-19, but that they will negatively affect the economic progress of women over the years.

Noting that women play an important role in society, Ehimuan said, “When women have the tools, resources and opportunities to transform their potential into power, it not only changes the course of their individual lives, but also empowers whole communities.” he spoke.
