China’s developed! First image from ‘shark robots’

New photos of the ‘shark robot’, which attracts attention especially with its exterior design, were shared on Ivan O’Gilvi’s Twitter account.

While it was stated that the unmanned vehicle project produced for underwater targets dates back to the 1990s, the details of the vehicle’s features were shared in an academic article last week.

The South China Morning Post reported that the drone was tested 10 years ago in the dehumanized Taiwan Strait and is capable of detecting a watercraft, using artificial intelligence to identify its source, and hitting it with a torpedo.

It was noted that the project in question was financed by the People’s Liberation Army of China.
