‘Aksungur’ will be used in fire fighting – Science Technology News

It was stated that the unmanned aerial vehicle ‘Aksungur’, which was developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) and started its first field mission, will be used within the scope of fire fighting by the General Directorate of Forestry.

According to the statement made by TAI, ‘Aksungur’, developed by TUSAŞ, started its first field mission by flying from Ankara TUSAŞ facilities to Adana Şakirpaşa Airport. ‘Aksungur’, which will be stationed at Şakirpaşa Airport during its term of office, will be used by the General Directorate of Forestry within the scope of fire fighting.

Developed with domestic and national resources, ‘Aksungur’, which broke the record for flying with and without weapons, entered the service of the General Directorate of Forestry in the fight against fire.

Developed in 18 months based on the ANKA platform, ‘Aksungur’, which has the capacity to perform uninterrupted multi-role intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and offensive missions with its high payload capacity, provides operation flexibility beyond the line of sight with its SATCOM payload.
