France fined Google 1.1 million euros on the grounds that its ranking for hotels in the country misled consumers.
In a written statement from the Ministry of Economy, the Unfair Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (DGCCRF), it was noted that the information given by Google about 7,500 hotels in 2019 and 2020 was checked after the hotels complained.
In the statement, which stated that Google was found to mislead consumers in the star ranking of the hotels in the country, it was stated that Google Ireland and Google France corrected this situation.
In the statement, it was stated that after the approval of the Paris Prosecutor, Google Ireland and Google France were fined 1.1 million euros, and the said representatives of Google agreed to pay this fine.
